About Custom Trailers
Custom Trailers is a long-form editorial publication for people who specify, build, register, tow and service trailers in Australia. The old customtrailers.com.au sat in the custom-trailer and utility-trailer trade. The Wayback Machine had nothing usable left, so we rebuilt the title as the magazine the domain always implied: a workshop desk, not a yard listing.
What we are
We publish guides. A typical piece is more than a thousand words, written in Australian English, and aimed at a reader who will use a figure on a plate or a drain hole in a chassis. We organise that work into six topic hubs: buying, builds, types, regulations, towing and maintenance.
What we are not
We are not a manufacturer, a dealer group or a classifieds board. We do not take a cut of a trailer sale. We do not publish thin product round-ups. When a commercially arranged placement is accepted it is labelled, and any paid outbound link carries rel="sponsored". Read the editorial standards and the guest guidelines.
The desk
Riley Hart
Editor, compliance and buying
Writes the plate, ADR and quote-desk pieces. Background in light-vehicle standards reading and long-form trade journalism.
Morgan Blake
Builds and materials
Covers steel, aluminium, galvanising, floors and looms. Spends more time in fabrication sheds than in press offices.
Sam Keating
Towing and types
Boat ramps, horse floats, plant tags and the combinations that actually leave the kerb. Based between the Hume and the coast.
Jordan Voss
Maintenance and field notes
Bearings, rust, service intervals and the jobs that keep last year’s trailer legal this year.
